A pawsome friend for you to meet this week, "Miss Calliope!"  My friend "Great Dane Dame" brought her by from the Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League this week-

Calliope is one beautiful Great Dane with big blue eyes and a sweet, loving personality.  She was so pawsome to meet- she is learning to meet humans and makes friends everywhere she goes.  Once she trusts you, which usually doesn't take long, you will become her  "bestest best friend in the whole wide world" (her words). WOOF!

Calliope is loving her new good life and has no plans to look back!  For this sweetheart, this includes the best spot on the couch regardless of who might already be comfortably sitting there (WOOOOF!!) and getting for fair 3/4 share of her human's bed.  BARK!  She still gets a little anxious about abandonment so she will keep close to you or make sure you aren't far away.

Once Calliope adopts you, pesky little things like privacy in the bathroom, personal bodyguard, and home security will be things of the past.  She will bark to let you know neighbors are around or the acorns are falling from the tree into your yard.

Being crated or corralled by a baby gate is the only time she throws a real puppy tantrum and digs her heels in.

Calliope is the pawfect houseguest and is 110% potty trained.  She gets along great with her fosters much smaller Frenchie roomies. BARKS!

Calliope enjoys walks. She is a strong gal, so a "Halti" should be used keep her from pulling you across the floor in the infamous "Risky Business" style.

Since she is such a young girl and still learning the ropes of dog life, she will need an adopter who will put time into her training.  The human will not allow her beautiful looks and goofy grin to distract them from being consistent with her!  arf!

Calliope is still very much a puppy!  She just LOVES inventing various new creative ways to entertain herself trying to get your attention. Since she is such an attention-hog, she will do well as an "only-child" so doesn't have any co-conspirators egging on her antics!

She is good with other dogs, mini-humans ages 8 and older but has no history with cats!
